NORFOLK, VA– Classic metal artists Fear Factory swung through Norfolk on Sunday night, headlining an all metal lineup that included Soilwork, Spades and Blades, and Martyrd.

Drawing heavy inspiration from dark Sci-fi themes, Fear Factory is known for a being a pioneer in the industrial metal genre with experimental vocals and machine-gun rapid drumming techniques. The current tour is in tribute to the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking second studio album, Demanufacture, and over half of their set was devoted to playing the “Terminator” influenced thematic composition in its entirety.

Swedish melodic metal Soilwork accompanied Fear Factory on this tour to promote their latest album, 2015’s The Ride Majestic. Up and comers Spades and Blades tore through their set on stage with theatrical jumps, spins and at times band members climbed off the stage and played right in the middle of the audience, making for a memorable experience. Martyrd opened the evening and will be accompanying this line up through mid-April.

Since entering the world of photography in 2013, WENDY PODMENIK has focused her interest on live music. Her ultimate goal is to successfully present the live music genre as an art form which preserves the expression, emotion, and energy of specific moments in time. ////// GLENN WOODELL spends his musical time working both on and around the stage. He's spent decades behind the lens as a visual artist, and for his career, studied human vision as a scientific researcher. His time on the stage these days is either spent holding on to a bass guitar or a camera.
