Pensacola, FL – Fans lined up outside Vinyl Music Hall hours before doors opened to guarantee a good spot at the beabadoobee concert. The show sold out just days after it went on sale back in January. beabadoobee is currently on tour with none other than Taylor Swift and chose Pensacola to make a pit stop in between the Tampa and Houston dates of the tour.

Local indie band, Tori Lucia & the Nitty Gritties, opened the show with an incredible performance. They had such a unique style and brought so much energy to the stage. Seeing such young artists perform in front of such a large group of people and absolutely kill it was so inspiring. So many people from the local community came out to see them and it was well worth it. I know I can’t speak for others but I definitely had their debut album on repeat the day after the show. Tori Lucia & the Nitty Gritties are definitely a band to put on your radar.

After a brief intermission, the crowd went wild as Filipino-British singer-songwriter Beatrice Laus, also known as beabadoobee, and her band took the stage. Laus has been releasing music since 2017 and has gained quite a fanbase over the years. She had the crowd hooked by the first song of her set “10:36.” Fans sang along to every single song and the energy in the room was electrifying. The set list consisted of a variety of songs both old and new. Almost half of the songs on tonight’s set list were from her newest album “Beatopia.” Some crowd favorites from tonight included “The Perfect Pair,” “Sunny Day,” “She Plays Bass,” and “Last Day On Earth.” There was no slowing down and the fact that it was a Wednesday night didn’t stop anyone from singing and dancing their hearts out.

Towards the middle of the set, Laus proclaimed that she had never been to Pensacola and was shocked to see that she had so many fans in the area. She hadn’t even really heard of Pensacola before coming here. I’m glad we could show her a great time and I hope that means she will be back soon!

After roughly 45 minutes, the stage cleared out. After a few minutes of darkness and plenty of cheering, beabadoobee returned to the stage for an encore. She ended the night with some of her most popular songs: “Coffee,” “Glue Song,” “Talk,” and “Cologne.” The crowd enjoyed every second of it and it was the perfect way to end a fun night.

Sam Fallone
Sam has been very passionate about music since a young age - growing up with parents crazy about artists like Third Eye Blind, Blink-182, and Weezer. That spark for music never left and as she got older she had the desire to give concert photography a try. She enjoys being able to combine her love of photography with her love of music and loves the challenge of getting the perfect shot. She currently lives in Florida where she’s a zookeeper by day and concert photographer by night. In her spare time she loves going to the beach, hiking, reading, and is currently learning to play the drums!
