PERFORMING AT AUSTIN CITY LIMITS, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL, LANDMARK MUSIC FESTIVAL AND MORE
NEW ALBUM HERE COME THE GIRLS OUT NOW ON FEEL MUSIC GROUP/ROUND HILL RECORDS
The London Souls are excited to announce extensive fall tour dates in support of their new album Here Come The Girls, out now on Feel Music Group/Round Hill Records. The New York City duo will spend the rest of the year on the road, playing headline gigs, appearing at music festivals including Austin City Limits and Life Is Beautiful, and touring with legendary rocker Billy Idol in the states and Catfish & The Bottlemen in the UK. Upcoming tour dates below.
Tash Neal and Chris St. Hilaire have been nothing short of a best-kept secret among New York City concertgoers since the band’s formation in 2008, building a fervent and dynamic fan base leveraged by their ever sustained reputation for consistently well-rehearsed and impassioned, explosive live performances. In response to Here Come The Girls, The London Souls have been deemed “New York’s most authentic rock-and-roll revivalists,” by Relix Magazine, and were lauded by Mojo for the the “power and depth” and “canny freshness” found on the album. The New Yorker meanwhile praised the band for giving us “everything you could ask of a rock group: great songs, powerful, dynamic playing and singing, and a true sense of joy and brotherhood.”

“‘Here Comes The Girls’ makes clear why Neal is a favorite of Gary Clark Jr., Derek Trucks and other guitar luminaries. He and drummer Chris St. Hilaire stake out new ground for a rock duo, mostly avoiding the minimalist blues of the White Stripes or Black Keys, in favor of sweet melodies, hard grooving and harmonious singing and playing that create a full, swinging sound.” – Guitar World
The road to the album’s release however, was anything but easy. Things were looking up for The London Souls in early 2012. Guitarist/lead singer Neal and drummer/singer St. Hilaire had just wrapped up recording Here Come The Girls, the follow-up to their critically lauded self-titled debut. It was without a doubt their finest collection of songs, rich with explosive percussive energy, razor sharp guitar riffs, soulful vocals, and indelible hooks. Plans were well underway for the album release and tour when a BMW drag racing down Broadway smashed into Neal’s NYC taxi in a brutal hit and run. He was unresponsive and near death by the time his ambulance arrived at the hospital, and doctors had to perform immediate brain surgery to treat a subdural hematoma.
Though Neal’s brush with death forced the duo to take nearly a year off as he had to learn how to walk and play guitar again, his miraculous recovery inspired-and was inspired by-the band. “Getting back out and playing shows and touring seemed to speed up his recovery,” says St. Hilaire. “It was kind of crazy. I almost felt like if Tash hadn’t been playing, the recovery would have been a lot slower. Music had a way of healing him.”
“We always played live like it might be our last show,” adds Neal, “but it’s even more fiery now.”
