Atlantic City, NJ- Sully Erna, in support of his second solo project “Hometown Life”, which was influenced by Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and even Adele, played to a packed house in the Resorts Casino. The preshow tailgating fueled with the pinging of slot machines and the ever present Wheel of Fortune ring tones definitely prepared the crowd for a music filled evening.
While departing from his usual Godsmack type performances Sully provided an acoustic set backed by two other players, guitarist Tim Theriault, and Chris Lester on Bass and Keyboards. The trio ran through selections off the new album while adding songs from Godsmack, Alice In Chains, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Aerosmith, and the Beatles.
The Multi-Talented Sully played guitar, keyboards, and even provided percussion with his guitar during a fantastic cover of “Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2” which was a highlight of the evening. In the middle of the set Sully reassured the audience that Godsmack is not breaking up, but will most likely launch a tour in 2018 where they will play their first album in its entirety followed by the band’s other hits to celebrate their 20th year anniversary.
Sully was very interactive with the audience, providing backgrounds into how the creative process for the songs were created. The show ended with an emotional tribute to the men and women in the Armed services, and Sully thanked the audience for supporting Live Music !!! The tour continues through the Northeast of the United States through November.
