The Struts // Live @ Theatre of Living Arts // 12.16.16 CONCERT REVIEWS FEATURED MUSIC by Bob Linneman - December 18, 2016 Article and photos by: Bob Linneman Philadelphia, PA — The Struts from Derby, U.K. retro rocked a sold out crowd on a cold night at the famous Theatre of Living Arts. The show kicked off, and maintained high energy led by front man Luke Spiller. Luke has a Glam swagger on stage, a combination of David Bowie and Mick Jagger style. Working the entire stage, Luke built the crowd up to a noise shattering frenzy and had everyone literally off their feet at one point shaking the building. Backed by a soulful torching of guitar work by Adam Slack, and solid rhythm provided by Jed Elliot on bass, and Gethin Davis on drums, Luke was free to be a true showman that kept the crowd going through the entire set. The band played all of their hits as well as their recent single “Put Your Hands Up”’. They closed the evening with a fantastic version of David Bowie’s “Rebel, Rebel”. The Struts have already opened for Guns N’ Roses and The Rolling Stones, so they are definitely on their way to bigger things.
