A cat scratching in her throat, full of banter and insolent, tearing cracks through nature, Natalie Findlay has arrived with her debut album Forgotten Pleasures, out March 3 via The End Records/BMG.
Findlay is joined by producer Jules Apollinaire on Guitar/keys, Ben Simon on guitar, and Christina Lamas on drums. The album also sees a collaboration with Carl Barat of the Libertines, as well as producers Jake Gosling (The Libertines, Ed Sheeran) and Flood (Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins, U2, The Killers).
All 13 tracks on the album reveal the ins and outs of her complex personality while cohesively blending the male-dominated rock sound of yesteryear with the indomitable spirit of a girl who isn’t to be reckoned with. When it comes to Findlay, think PJ Harvey or The Kills’ Alison Mosshart.
Says Findlay, “Forgotten Pleasures is the cream of all the songs I’ve written in the last few years documenting my life. I wanted to make a record that connects with anyone else who’s experienced what it’s like to be young, fucked up, in love, out of love and demanding to make sense of a world that doesn’t always make sense.”
“Waste My Time” and “Electric Bones,” from the forthcoming Forgotten Pleasures, are available now for instant download with the full album iTunes pre-order.
