Honkytonk-punkers Sarah Shook and the Disarmers will soon be “On The Road That Leads to You,” with a sound that chronicles genuine experiences from vocalist Sarah Shook. Definitely not your run of the mill musician, Sarah gives the world a reason to look forward to her original music that is recognizable from the first strum of her guitar and the tremble of her voice.

The band is currently on tour to promote their debut album from Bloodshot Records, “Sidelong.” The album was originally self-released in 2015, and then re-released in 2017 under Bloodshot. This album, full of memorable one liner gifts from the mind of Sarah Shook, is incomparable, raw and real. Once you hear her powerful, yet mournful, voice belting out those “not for the faint of heart” lyrics, you will agree that “Nothin’ Feels Right But Doin’ Wrong.” Her message rings clear, no apologies given and no sympathy desired, but Sarah lays her own story out in front of you. Coming from a remarkable background of being raised in a poverty stricken, home schooled fundamentalist Christian household, she finds her own voice as a tattooed bisexual, politically active, whiskey drinkin’ atheist female in a predominately male genre. “Sidelong” was included in 2015’s top 50 Essential Albums by “Saving Country Music,” and Sarah’s voice and ability to write about topics and experiences out of the mainstream norm also attracted the attention of the BuzzFeed Community, listing her as one of the top five female country artists who are having a positive impact on music today.

Want to catch this buzz? Sarah’s lonesome passion and outlaw country twang highlights one liners that include, “drinking water tonight ‘cause I drank all the whiskey this morning” from the “Dwight Yoakum” track, and “I can’t decide which one of us will be the nail in this here coffin” from the track “Nail Make plans to hang out with Sarah Shook and her Disarmers on their introductory tour at any of these following dates, and check out the website for full tour information.
