Austin TX – Scott Stapp of Creed headlined the 2017 Make America Rock Again Tour, which featured other acts including Sick Puppies, Adelitas Way, Trapt and Drowning Pool. The night was a special one for Scott and pregnant wife, Jaclyn Stapp, as they planned a reveal of their baby’s gender on stage during the show.
Stapp’s set was compiled of many Creed hits. He opened the show with “Bullets,” from the 2001 Creed album Weathered followed by “Are You Ready,” from Creed’s 1999 album Human Clay. Scott welcomed his wife and kids on stage to prepare for the reveal. Lights and smoke appeared on stage in the color of blue to show everyone they would be expecting a baby boy.
He followed up the reveal with “Arms Wide Open,” a song he wrote when he first found out he was going to be a father, and gave a speech about fatherhood.
Later in the show he did mention the topic of suicide and death as he once went through a hard time in life, and the recent passing of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, and then began to perform “One Last Breath.” He ended his set on a high note with “My Sacrifice,” and got many cheers from the crowd.
The Make America Rock Again tour continues through September and October, which will end on October 2nd in Missoula, Montana.
