PVRIS just started their North American tour and visited Austin, Texas as one of their first stops. Support would come from artists Party Nails and Lights.
Party Nails opened up the show and brought some quirky vibes to the venue. Their mic stands were decorated with flowers and pride flags. Their sound could be described as 80’s mixed with modern pop.
Lights was up next to perform. She opened with her new single, “Skydiving.” She released her 4th studio album, Skin & Earth, just a couple of weeks ago on September 22nd. In addition to songs from Skin & Earth, she played favorites from past albums, including songs “Running With the Boys” and “Up We Go.” With her bright red hair and unique vocals, it was clear that she would be put on a mesmerizing performance.
PVRIS came on stage with a stunning setup. There were three LCD screens that were interactive and added extra flair to a brilliant performance. After opening with their hit “Heaven,” vocalist Lynn Gunn started small talk with the audience. She even told them a story of the band trying out a ramen place in Austin. Throughout the whole set, Lynn interacted with the crowd and answered questions that fans shouted. Halfway through their set, the band played a stripped down version of “White Noise” and had the whole venue silent in awe. Their album All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell came out back in August. The band has kept their sound and theme similar to their first album, White Noise. They closed with their breakout hit, “My House” and returned for an encore of “No Mercy.”
Each band brought their own unique experience and sound, but they were able to come together for a seamless tour. There are a few dates remaining, and this is one show you do not want to miss out on.
