Portland, OR — Hoodie Allen made it rain last week in the Pacific Northwest, and we aren’t talking about the weather. Standing atop a monitor, Hoodie sprayed the crowd with a gun that shot out custom Hoodie Hundred’s. Every hand crazily waving through the air in hopes of grasping just one of those bills.
But that wasn’t the only stunt Hoodie pulled out of his sleeve of tricks that night. At one point Hoodie attempted to crowd surf on a giant inflatable boat, but ended up stranded in the middle of the crowd. Joking once he got back to the stage, “Just pretend that was really cool and I made it all the way to the back.” Granted, Hoodie did look pretty darn cool, even while stranded. One lucky fan even got called (yes, Hoodie actually called this girl with his phone) to go up on stage and receive a personalized t-shirt from the man himself.
Though the show wasn’t sold out, that didn’t negatively impact the level of energy Hoodie and his band exuded throughout their set. In fact it may have even helped, giving the show a bit of an underground rap vibe. Hoodie’s set contained songs like “No faith In Brooklyn” from one of Hoodie’s first Albums, All American (2012), to his newest “bangers” (as Hoodie called them), like “All My Friends,” and “Heartbreak.” off of the 2017 LP The Hype.
