Album Review : All Souls – Never Know

Article by: Steven Principato

Recently on tour with such notable stoner-rock acts such as Red Fang and Grammy recipients, Mastodon, there is little doubt the L.A. based quartet, All Souls, has gotten some significantly positive exposure in this increasingly radio friendly scene.

With a new and infectious single titled “Never Know” preceding the release of their debut album on Feb 9th, All Souls generates a sound and unique style of an act that might have a few records under their belt. In addition to the catchy and semi-aggressive riffing that establishes a solid foundation to “Never Know,” the quartet rises above such garage-rock predictability and elevates the six minute single into the fantastic realms of progressive at times. Fearing not the Guitar solo nor the ancient art of a song structure that involves more than two letters, “Never Know” takes the listener to all dimensions of this thing we still call rock & roll, and proves once again, that it is alive and kicking ass.

Be sure to check out All Souls debut record, out in February 9th on Sunyata Records.
