Harrison, OH – Adema is currently supporting Powerman 5000’s The Days of Disorder 2019 Tour, and on this night performed at Blue Note Harrison just outside Cincinnati, Ohio.  The venue is cozy, offering a very different atmosphere from larger, more cavernous venues that corral a crowd into a large, standing-only pit.  The ceiling here is low, the floor is carpeted, and there are tables scattered throughout the banquet-sized room, where a slightly elevated stage stands in one corner, a bar in another, and walls are lined with band merch booths.  This arrangement offers a more intimate concert experience, allowing the performances to have a more personal feel.  It’s as if your favorite band is playing at your best friend’s wedding reception.  Really, it’s sort of surreal, and absolutely fabulous.

Adema hails from Bakersfield, California, and took the stage following performances from Saints Among Us from nearby Dayton, Ohio, and Blacklist Regulars from Chicago.  New frontman and lead singer Ryan Shuck made no bones about it…he told the audience that “everyone” said this show would be sh*t.  But he proclaimed how those people were all wrong, that these fans were incredible!  Beautiful, even!  And with that, the band set in motion a set delivered with the same gusto, bravado and enthusiasm that you would expect at a larger venue.

It’s that sort of commitment to always putting forth your best effort for folks who spend their hard-earned dollars to experience their music that elevated this night’s performance.  The crowd, in turn, showed its appreciation and responded with vigor.  Shuck, with his leather jacket, sunglasses and slicked-back hair, pointed into the crowd and welcomed them into the Adema fold.  The band’s brand of rock is an energizing blend of classic rock, hard rock and a bit of a head banging metal flair.
