Adema // Live @ Vampd // 11.16.19

Las Vegas, NV – Adema was formed in 2000 at the height of the nu metal genres popularity. They burst onto the scene with good music and had spots on many of the music festivals and tours of the 2000’s.  Their career since that time has included a few hiatus’ but in June of this year they announced they would be back with new front-man Ryan Shuck of Julien-K and Orgy.

Tonight they are playing at the premier small rock club in Las Vegas, Vampd, with Hed PE and Powerman 5000.  The room is packed from the very beginning and this crowd is excited to see the return of Adema.  Shuck played Las Vegas last year with Juilen-K and he impressed the crowd then and tonight is even better.  The energy from this band is overpowering.  The small stage can barely contain them but the crowd is feeding off of the bands energy and vice versa.

There set includes all their most well known tracks including “Unstable,” “Co-Dependent,” “The Way You Like it” and “Freaking Out” but the inclusion of lesser known tracks like “Immortal” really please the fans.  The eight songs are fast and sound just as good as they did back in the day closing out the set with “Giving In.”  Shuck fits in perfectly with the band but musically guitarists Tim Fluckey and Mike Ransom deliver the fast riffs that this band is known for with high intensity in their performance while bassist Dave DeRoo and drummer Kris Kohls provide that thumping bass that is so prevalent in nu metal.

The set is exactly what this crowd wanted from the return of Adema and this was a perfect way to open the night.  Hopefully we will see some new music from them soon and a return performance in Las Vegas.

Abigail Buckler: My primary focus is music and travel photography. What I like about both is that it's all about capturing a moment -- whether a guitar solo on stage or a performance artist on the street, those moments can tell a great story.
