Newport, KY – November brings more indoor shows to enjoy!  On this night, Softspoken performed for an appreciative crowd in the cozy Revival Room at The Southgate House Revival.  The band is hot off of competing for a coveted spot on the Welcome to Rockville Festival Main Stage, where they made it to the finals.  Although they didn’t win the overall competition, the band was rewarded with a spot on the festival’s Twitch Stage.

Don’t let the name Softspoken fool you.  The band started as post-hardcore, but their sound has evolved to bring more melodic elements.  However, their edge remains!  The band, from northern Kentucky, is comprised of lead vocalist Sam Scheuer and guitarists Chris Wethington and Billy Zimpelman, along with touring drummer Stefan Vaught.  They have a solid rock sound, with guttural growls injected to add a bit of grit.  Their strong on-stage chemistry makes for a powerful concert experience.

The band invited other local bands, including Third Person Omega, Grave Friends and Avanti, along with New York’s VRSTY, to perform throughout the night.  That made for hours of high octane entertainment!

Third Person Omega

Give your local bands some love and support.  Stadium-filling bands mostly started as local bands like these, doing what they love – creating music and performing live for smaller audiences. Through their talent, hard work, sweat, determination (and luck), you never know which ones will break through and hit the large stages!
