BETHLEHEM, PA – It’s been 48 years since Graham Russell met Russell Hitchcock at a play rehearsal in Sydney, Australia, a chance encounter that resulted in Air Supply, and pop stardom.  Tonight they recreated the magic onstage on the opening night of the East Coast segment of their current tour.  These hardworking musicians have played well over five thousand shows, but seemed to have as much fun and energy as if they had just started out on the road. Graham and Russell are backed by the tremendous musical talent of Aaron McLain (Lead Guitar, Music Director), Mirko Tessandori (Keyboards), Pavel Valdman (Drums), and Doug Gild (Bass).

The band came out rocking with “Sweet Dreams,” causing the packed crowd to erupt.  They continued with hit after hit, the audience singing along gustily.  In place of a break, Graham traditionally read one of his wonderful poems, and welcomed new “airheads” to the fold.

Two encores were performed.  First was “Without You,” their powerful cover of Harry Nilsson’s classic ballad showcasing Russell Hitchcock’s still mighty voice.  The band closed with “All out of Love,” an early hit, big crowd favorite, and perfect ending to a stellar show.

Props to Wind Creek – the easy parking, fine dining, and friendly, helpful staff made for a fabulous experience.
