Brooklyn, NY – What has fire breathing, stage diving, and a killer light show? If you guessed The Dillinger Escape Plan at the Brooklyn Paramount on Sunday, then you’re correct! Having originally disbanded in 2017, the group reunited for a handful of shows with original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album, Calculating Infinity. The band wasted no time cranking the energy by kicking off their set with “The Running Board”, as their signature light show also kicked into full gear. After ripping through several more songs, Minakakis disappeared from the stage, soon reappearing on a platform at the back of the crowd where he performed “Jim Fear”. During the 60 minute set, fans were treated to all 11 songs from Calculating Infinity, plus additional deep cuts from The Dillinger Escape Plan’s catalog. “This next song is a special one! It’s the very first track we ever released as a band back in 1997” said the band before playing “Proceed With Caution”.

The crowd spent the entire show moshing, crowd surfing, and singing along. At one point, Minakakis even threw his mic to an audience member in the front row, who excitedly sang the last few lines of “Three For Flinching (Revenge Of The Porno Clowns)”. The band closed out the show with “43% Burnt”, at which point Minakakis brought out a flaming torch and performed a fire breathing routine.

The Dillinger Escape Plan currently have one reunion show left on the books for August 24th at The Salt Shed in Chicago, IL. They’ve also created an Instagram account to chronicle their shows.
