Drowning Pool // Live @ The Concourse // 7.16.24

The night kicked off with Emerge, whose high-energy performance set the tone for the evening. Their mix of melodic riffs and powerful vocals warmed up the crowd, who were quick to respond with enthusiastic headbanging and cheers. The band’s tight musicianship and stage presence were impressive, making them a band to watch in the local scene. Emerge teased us with announcing new music on the horizon.

A Killer’s Confession took the stage next, ramping up the intensity with their aggressive and dark sound. Frontman Waylon Reavis, formerly of Mushroomhead, commanded the stage with his powerful vocals and intense presence. The band’s heavy, driving rhythms and haunting melodies captivated the crowd, who responded with a frenzy of mosh pits and raised fists. Their set was a highlight of the night, leaving the audience in a state of metal euphoria.

The anticipation reached its peak as Drowning Pool prepared to close the night. The legendary band did not disappoint, delivering a powerhouse performance that had the entire venue shaking. Opening with the iconic “Bodies,” they instantly had the crowd in a frenzy. The energy was palpable, with fans screaming along to every word and thrashing to the relentless beats. Drowning Pool’s set was a perfect blend of their classic hits and newer material, showcasing their enduring appeal and mastery of the metal genre.

Overall, the show at The Concourse was a testament to the vibrant metal scene and the enduring power of live music. Each band brought their unique flair, creating a night of unforgettable performances and unbridled energy. Metal fans in Knoxville couldn’t have asked for a better evening of music.
