Charlotte, NC – Sueco ended his Attempted Lover Tour with a night at The Underground in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 32-show tour made its way all across the U.S. to promote his new album, Attempted Lover.
The night kicked off with a set from artist suicidal-idol, best known for her viral song “Ecstasy.” She was the only opener of the evening, and the crowd was already buzzing with excitement for her performance. Her fast-paced music, easy to dance to, set the perfect tone for what was to come.
Sueco kept the show alive from the moment he took the stage. He had so much energy throughout the entire night, and there truly was not a dull moment. Attending his show felt like the closest thing to being at Warped Tour in 2013—there was crowd-surfing, mosh pits, and even a “wall of death.” He played a mix of old and new music, opening his set with the song “Bathroom Floor” from his new album.
Some may remember his attempts to crowd surf during previous shows, but Sueco decided to bump it up a notch for the Attempted Lover tour. He brought out a surfboard to crowd-surf on. After the crowd took the board and set it up, he climbed right on and they surfed him through the crowd. He managed to stand up on the board while singing a crowd favorite: “Fast.” Another fun moment of the night involved a fan taking off their prosthetic leg and surfing it to the front of the stage to get it signed by Sueco himself. Later, he ended up bringing that same fan onstage to sing happy birthday to her.
The crowd sang along to every single song he played, and everyone was having the time of their lives. What a perfect way to spend a Saturday night. After his last song, “Paralyzed,” Sueco exited the stage, and the crowd immediately started chanting “One more song!” until he made his way back to the stage. He finished the night with two encores: a song from his new album, “Mulholland Drive,” and an older classic, “Motel 666.”
He ended the show by saying he had a really great night and even went as far as saying this was his favorite show of the tour (he swears he wasn’t just saying this!). Since this was the last show of the tour, the band and management brought out some posters, autographed records, and bracelets to throw into the crowd. The surfboard used to crowd-surf during the show was even going to be auctioned off at the end of the night! Sueco has come such a long way over the years, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for him and his music. Give him a listen if you haven’t yet!
