Queens, NY – On a rainy Saturday night, Chat Pile took the stage at Outline Fest to excited cheers from a packed crowd. The band started their set with “Why” before diving right into “Slaughterhouse”, both cuts from the latest album God’s Country. In his trademark style, singer Raygun Busch quickly tore off his shirt after the first song while jumping around stage. Each band member brought plenty of stage presence, further elevating the energy of the already elated crowd, who were singing along to every word.

Between songs, the band bantered about movies they recently watched, including Maniac, Pusher, Summer of Sam, Jungle Fever, and a few Martin Scorsese films. Raygun also told the story of his trip to the camp where Friday the 13th was filmed in New Jersey. “This next song is a new one! So if we mess up, you won’t even know it” joked the band as they ripped back into their set with a brand new track. In addition to treating the audience to two new songs, the band’s eight song set featured cuts from across their entire catalog. Each song was played with the precision and musicianship of a seasoned group. “New York, thank you to the great venue, staff, and other bands on this great show. Now let’s do this!” said the band as they closed out their set with fan favorite “Dallas Beltway”.

One thing was certainly clear, Chat Pile is an act that should not be missed live. The band has a handful of upcoming UK and US shows, and teased more soon to be announced fall tour dates. Make sure to keep an eye out for those, and don’t miss Chat Pile when they come your way.
