     More often than not, the most popular artists happen to be solo acts, or full on 4+ piece bands. Often overlooked, though, is the duet. For years, indie-folk duo, The Sea The Sea, has been making music, and with an interesting dynamic. They’re engaged.

Formed in 2011, Chuck Costa and Mira Stanley both took a leap of faith, something that they have explored heavily in their music, in forming the duo together. Their first encounter though, was years earlier when Mira volunteered to manage a songwriting contest that Chuck had entered. Five years later, and after going through significant life changes, they reconnected to form The Sea The Sea.

The duo’s indie/folk/pop sound is rivaled by few, and loved by many. Perhaps because of the variety of instrumentals, but more likely for their intimate, joyful, and harmonious vocals. Together, they have a deeper connection than almost any other group like them, and this connection translates into the endless landscapes of spiritual, adventure driven sonic journeys that are their songs. Like many in the folk scene, their music is very spiritual and ephemeral in sound, but, for those like myself who are not always searching for some deep meaning in music, their mellifluous harmonies and years of experience put into creating them are more than enough to keep you listening.

Although they are young artists, the natural talent and faithful, adventurous experience that goes into their art speaks more to their musical greatness than anything else, and the journey that is making the music in itself continues to fuel their creativity.
