NORFOLK — Formed in 1995 to pay tribute to greats Led Zeppelin and the 1970’s era of classic rock, Zoso performs around the world with frequent tour dates and to packed audiences that are a testimony to the enduring popularity and love of Led Zeppelin.

Starting off the night was local alt-rock/metal group, Full Fledge, a band with great stage presence and an obvious drive to succeed. This was the second time Full Fledge opened for Zoso, and hopefully this band will continue to grow and book dates in the Hampton Roads area and beyond.

Later, when Zoso took the stage, their presence energized the venue. The members carefully craft their show with outstanding musicianship on vintage instruments, and an attention to detail down to the clothing, the body language, and stage movements of the original members of Led Zeppelin. Front man Matt Jernigan embodies the persona of Robert Plant, John McDaniel represents Jimmy Page, Adam Sandling stands in as John Paul Jones and drummer Bevan Davies keeps the beat as John Bonham.

Approximately 700 people were in attendance for this event, including a surprising number of young people that were appreciative of the history and importance of Led Zeppelin. Fully billed as “Zoso- The Ultimate led Zeppelin Experience”, tour dates extending through the summer of 2016 can be found on their website, zosoontour.com. The show included many popular tracks such as “Ramble On”, “the Immigrant Song”, and “Kashmir”. Zoso is known as the premiere Led Zeppelin tribute band and if you want to have the full experience of a Led Zeppelin show, check out the tour dates and make your plans to catch them in a city near you.

Wendy Podmenik Woodell: Since entering the world of photography in 2013, WENDY PODMENIK has focused her interest on live music. Her ultimate goal is to successfully present the live music genre as an art form which preserves the expression, emotion, and energy of specific moments in time. ////// GLENN WOODELL spends his musical time working both on and around the stage. He's spent decades behind the lens as a visual artist, and for his career, studied human vision as a scientific researcher. His time on the stage these days is either spent holding on to a bass guitar or a camera.
