Boston – MA: Led by husband and wife team Kyle and Gretta Miller, Tow’rs builds beautiful music with thoughtful lyrics. Hailing from Flagstaff, Arizona, they have been traveling the country together in an RV along with their band and two toddlers. They quip that they won’t be able to stick around for an encore because after a couple hours their nanny really needs a break.

The band is currently working on their fourth album, this one the result of a Kickstarter campaign. The name is still to be determined but we’re told to be on the lookout this summer.

The sound of a cello develops first with a solitary note, drawn out as the rest of the band silently waits to join in. As they do, their instruments and voices slowly blended into harmony. Kyle and Greta are perfect compliments to one another, whether they’re taking turns in a song or singing along in unison. The audience is transfixed in wonder, many silently swaying along and others quietly mouthing the words to each song. The music is delicate yet complex, it’s an inspirational experience.

Each of their songs has a story behind it and lead songwriter Kyle took the time to explain the meaning of some of them. “Whiskey + Wine” is about the first time he told Gretta that he loved her. “Constellations” is inspired by Aesop’s fable of the twins Joy and Sorrow and how they are intertwined. For their last song “I Can’t Help Myself,” everyone gathered around two microphones up front for an intimate end to their performance. They explain that the song is about how writing and playing is essential, it’s their creative outlet and essential to feel fulfilled. They encouraged everyone to find something meaningful to them, regardless of what others may think.
